About us

The Kinmel Arms Pub in Llandyrnog is a traditional free house, country pub in an idyllic location at the foot of The Clwydian Range.

From our beer garden we have superb views looking over Moel Arthur and Pen y Cloddiau. Nestled between the two historic market towns of Denbigh and Ruthin and just 10 minutes off the A55, or a short detour off the Offa’s Dyke path … a perfect place to drop in for a pint of quality cask ale by our roaring log fire (or in our stunning beer garden … if the sun is out!!!) or for some quality freshly prepared, home cooked food, from bar snacks, sandwiches and light lunches to whole hearty meals with locally sourced produce and home cooked specials that are freshly prepared on a daily basis.

We feel we have something to offer everyone with our dog friendly, muddy boot and child friendly bar, beer garden and children’s play area, to the more private but relaxing atmosphere of our 36 seater restaurant. We hope that you feel at home in ours The Kinmel Arms Llandyrnog.

Below is just a small insight into what we are all about here at The Kinmel Arms, but please feel free to look further through the menus, photo gallery, testimonials and such, the tabs for which are above.

Food

Here at The Kinmel Arms we pride ourselves on the quality and freshness of our food.

As well as sourcing as locally as we possibly can, with our meat being supplied by “D & J Jones of Clwyd Williams Family Butchers” based right here in Llandyrnog, whose lamb and cattle are reared in fields just a stone’s throw away from the pub itself … to our fresh fish which is delivered twice a week by “Mermaid Seafoods Ltd of Llandudno”, our most local quality fishmongers … to our potatoes which are grown and supplied by “Ronnie the Berth” less than a mile down the road.

We concentrate on season specials as well, so we have venison supplied by David Tilly of Clwydian Vale Meats, Denbigh and between October and the end of January we have what seems like an almost endless supply of partridge from Gwaenynog and pheasants from Gwerglas on the Rhug Estate and then from Bodrhyddan Estate also which make some superb game casseroles and meatballs too!

Real Ale

Being a pub, real ale is something we feel very passionate about.

We have two standard beers Thwaites Original 3.6%, and Thwaites Lancaster Bomber 4.4% and two guest beers as well as a craft keg line that change on a frequent basis but largely support two local award winning breweries, Bragdy Heavy Industry of Henllan which is just 5 miles down the road whose brewery swaps bring interesting beers from all over the country onto the bar … and Buzzard Brewery of Llandyrnog, which can’t really get more local!!! There are many other local micro-breweries that we try to support and our beer festivals often provide a very wide ranging choice of quality ales from the many North Wales and Cheshire breweries.

Now in The Good Beer Guide since 2014 and we are LocALE accredited by CAMRA, we feel our reputation for variety and quality cask ales speaks for itself.

We have an up and coming ales board which is updated weekly in the pub and can also be found on our Twitter feed and Facebook page, so if you want to keep updated on what’s on next, why not click on the links to our Twitter and Facebook below and follow us, or better yet, just pop in for a pint and see for yourself!
